Road Skills Test Information

The Road Skills Test is the final step before obtaining your Louisiana driver's license. At West Monroe Driving Academy (WMDA), we offer a state-approved Road Skills Test that takes approximately 20-25 minutes to complete.

Here’s what you need to know:

1. Test Vehicle and Equipment:

• The test is conducted in a WMDA vehicle equipped with an instructor brake, camera, and GPS tracking system.

2. Appointment Details:

• The Road Skills Test is available by appointment only.
• Request a Callback: Fill out this short form to have a representative contact you within 24 hours.

3. Packages and Courses:

• Adult Driver's Education Course: Includes the Road Skills Test.
• Teen Driver's Education Packages: The Road Skills Test is included in the Silver and Gold packages.

4. Additional Services:

• West Monroe Tag, Title & License (WMTTL): After passing the test, you can use WMTTL, located in the same building as WMDA, to get your license issued the same day (no appointment required).

5. Requirements:

• For 16-Year-Olds:
• Completed the 38-Hour Driver’s Education Course.
• Held a valid Learner’s Permit for a minimum of 180 days.
• For 17-Year-Olds:
• Completed the 38-Hour Driver’s Education Course.
• For 18 or Older:
• Completed the 14-Hour Adult Driver’s Education Course.
• Note: As of 2024, the Road Skills Test is administered during the last drive of the 14-Hour Course

6. Required Documents on Test Day:

• For 16-17 Year Olds:
• A parent or legal guardian with their ID.
• Learner’s Permit or TIP Card (if 17).
• Birth Certificate.
• Any custody papers (if applicable).
• For 18 and Older:
• Learner’s Permit or TIP Card

7. Test Fee:

• $50 cash per test
